Doctor Who: Series 1 Episode 1

The thing that is interesting in this episode is it starts out like a normal day for Rose, then all of a sudden everything falls a part and strange things start happening. The fun thing is you never know what strange thing will happen next. Nothing is safe. You also never know what the Doctor will do next. The Doctor is an interesting character. He is at once amused and exacerbated by humans. He is an extremely odd character, but quite likable. This is for the best, since when he shows up it usually means there is trouble and he needs people to believe him quickly. It is a nice twist here that it is Rose who is the brave one and her boyfriend Mickey is a bit of a coward, or at least Rose adjusts to the strangeness far more quickly. All in all, an excellent start. The best part, you don’t have to know anything about Doctor Who if you start here with the series reboot. This is just as well, since if you were to start with the first episode of the first season and the first Doctor, well, that is twenty-six seasons and a movie and who knows how many specials. That is a bit daunting. But fortunately, you can start here and quite enjoy everything from here on.
